Met 2 people for a business lunch who both work in the area while is was coming from outside DC. I’ve been to Mozart a few times. One of the individuals I was meeting with comes to Mozart often for business lunches. The food was good and atmosphere is conducive for having a discussion without noise issues or feeling other guests are on top of you.
We didn't get the back dining room but in the bar area. We were sorta in a hurry due to a concert so the service could have been faster but the food was great! The bartender was our server and he was busy.
Waiter never bothered to check if our drinks needed to be refilled (coffee). The bread was simply store-bought bread. It wasn't baked locally.
The food is outstanding. We come every time we visit DC.

Great food. Great ambiance. Great service. And delightful piano music!
Service was terrific but one dining patron insisted on having a conference call on her speaker phone which detracted from our experience.
The food quality has really gone downhill at CM. I've been many times and used to just love it. Tonight's meal was really disappointing! My friends ordered the sausage platter based on my recommendation (they had never been to a German restaurant before). Neither of them really liked it. I ordered the same thing and felt the same. The red cabbage was more of a dingy gray. The sausage was not tasty. My mom is from Europe. I grew up eating wurst. What I had tonight was just not it. I also ordered some three-eyed cookies. The jelly was not the same as the ones in Europe. It was tough and ..stringy. Finally, I bought a piece of hazelnut cake, which I love. The frosting separated from the cake, which was pretty dry. Ugh. Sad for CM. It just was not the best night there. I don't think I'll be back for a long time.
Great food. Beef roulade Pork roast. Wiener Schnitzel. Red cabbage. And on and on. Delicious. Generous portions. Great service. Friendly helpful knowledgeable. Gracious. We felt welcome and at home. Wonderful ambience. Live piano player. Mozart Strauss and contemporaries. All in all a thoroughly delightful evening

Excellent service and quaint ambience. Lovely live piano music. Main meal was very tasty. Dessert was not fresh.
The service and food were great. I ordered a side that I had not asked how it was prepared and found it was prepared with something I could not eat and they readily exchanged it. On the way out we talked to the owner and it was a delightful experience!
We had a wonderfully romantic Valentine's Day German cuisine dinner with wonderful German oumpa accordion music and singing! Good food & a great time! Thank You.
Greg the bartender and also our server was knowledgeable of the variety of dishes available. Greg knows his beers and overall he obviously takes pride in his work.
A pleasant dining experience overall. Food is flavorful and plentiful and service is friendly and efficient.
The food and the waiter/bartender was perfect. He has all the good qualities expected by a waiter/bartender. The food and drinks were superb!
Wonderful food great service and atmosphere with German music and decor going as we ate. It was an authentic taste with emersive experience. We loved it!

Charming atmosphere and great food. Service was top notch, and the piano player was an excellent touch.
Their nann is not good. It is like a green spunach tortilla... $3 for a small piece
The first of was very good, wait staff wasn’t very personable
Very traditional German food and a pianist who played only Mozart!
At first I was skeptical since I did not realize they had a full restaurant in the back of the deli / store area! Once we walked to the back we could see it was an actual restaurant and that German food was delicious!
Friendly server, very prompt, large portions, clean!
Responsive and accommodating service.m Aweseme, Austrian cuisine.
Accordian player Silvia is a treasure! Have her play "Autumn Leaves", which she wrote.
Food was very good. Server was very friendly and efficient.
Rear dining room is very quiet, so it's easy to talk. The food was good German cooking. Service was professional. Wine (riesling) OK.
Wonderful staff and tasty German food.Enjoyed the Austrian accordion player, very festive.
Discount deal made it good. Room, flowers, tablecloth, all good. Food fine, ample. Ambience seems a bit too hectic, with server/bartender overworked.
Discount made it a good deal. Location near hotel and museum of Women in arts good. Food fine and ample. Downside: felt hectic, though not really rushed. Waiter/bartender seemed overworked.

The atmosphere was wonderful, the food was delicious and our wait staff were attentive and made great recommendations!
Very good ethnic food. Everything was very authentic German and the sausage was outstanding. The only bad items were dessert otherwise we would have said Excellent!
Waitstaff attentive; pianist nice touch; but food sadly disappointing: ordered beef roulade & grilled trout; both overcooked & dry. Trout tasted “fishy” & seemed less than fresh.
Great Veal Schnitzel & Spaetzle. Service was very fast.
We hope Sylvia comes back, playing the accordion on Sunday evenings.
It is a charming little German restaurant with lovely booths where you can actually hear the conversation. The waiter was lovely and the food quite nice.
Pleasant with live music.
Food was authentic and very good. Staff were attentive and timely, except for getting check ( a little long).
From the time we arrived until the time we left we had a wonderful experience including the food, bartender Greg who couldn't have been more polite and professional, Sylvia's music accordion her singing and friendly personality. The dining room and bar transport one to Austria.Did I mention they have an excellent deli? They do.
Great service. Atmosphere was very different from the normal DC restaurant and a lot of fun, with a piano player.
We were in DC for a family vacation. We all really enjoyed this restaurant. The food was amazing! What made the experience special was the accordion player, Shirley Eberly. She was awesome! If we are in the DC area again, we will definitely return to Café Mozart. I have already recommended it to some friends who live in the DC area.
More than expected
Great service... Great food
We went to Cafe Mozart after a rain storm over the dinner hour. You enter through the deli, pass counters of baking, sausages and other good deli choice. There is a lounge where people were laughing and having fun and through the lounge a restaurant with white table clothes that reminded me of my local Alpine club. The accordion was playing in the background by a friendly Austrian woman who chatted and asked if we had any requests. Our server was also friendly and helpful in explaining some of the choices. We found the food good, authentic and it came in a timely manner. Even with the storm we did not feel rushed to leave. All-in-one it was a wonderful meal and we took desserts with us to enjoy in our hotel later. I would definitely go back for the restaurant and deli. Thanks for a great experience Cafe Mozart!
Our server was a middle aged woman who was very friendly and gave us great service. There was a women playing the accordion also who was delightful.
Food and a server (perhaps, the owner) were great, but the only problem was that the server added tip himself when he brought me the bill. The amount of the tip was reasonable so that I didn't mention anything about that, but it wasn't pleasure experience.
We were in town on a convention and we saw the certificate available on Restaurant.com, so we decided to give it a try. Glad we did. The food was authentic, the service was great and the ambiance was comfortable. We will return again at our next visit to D.C. to sample the rest of the menue.

The tip was automatically added to my bill
The food and service are consistently very good.
Not a super ambiance
It seemed as if our waitress kept forgetting that we were even in the restaurant. It started when she took the order for the neighboring table -- who sat down after we did.
Good restaurant for German food. Loved the accordion player.
The restaurant is a small quaint interior room. They have live music on certain evenings. The food is phenomenal! I hadn't been here in at least 2 years but my boyfriend raved this was the best food we've ever had at a restaurant.
Foods is not our expectations especially the schnitzel veal, too costly ! It 's deep fried & tasteless! Never come back !
Excellent German food, efficient service.
Our waitress was so sweet, making recommendations that were delicious.

Great food, ambiance, and staff. I will be back
Service was good food quality was subpar
Always go for the prime rib
Our waiter/ bartender was very nice. He was very helpful. The food was mostly excellent especially the German potato salad. The sauerbraten was a bit dry which could be helped with thinner slices and more gravy. Otherwise everything was great.
After the usual entrance through the deli, it was a wonderful and different different dining experience. Music was wonderful, Food was great.
Reasonably priced tasty food coupled with delightful entertainment-German melodies by an accordian player/singer.
Very friendly great service
Excellent service, excellent food. We loved our experience
Alina our waitress was very attentive
We were looking forward to Wiener Snizer and it was not that good and quite expensive. It was near the White House and that was one of the reasons we visited too. The atmosphere was quaint and wonderfully German.
They had a varied selection of German cuisine to suit a variety of tastes. The trout I had was delicious and well-prepared. I'd love to go back to try anything else on the menu.
Waitress was able to help me understand each of the offering throughout their dinner menu and made fantastic recommendations. Towards the middle/end of dinner, live entertainment added a much needed element to the otherwise deafening silence of the restaurant. Food quality, portions, and taste were all fantastic and I would highly recommend to other first-timers. I was hesitant to expand outside of my comfort zone, but I'm certainly glad I did.
The atmosphere was authentic German and the food was excellent. The night we were there, there was an accordion player. We had a lovely conversation with her and my kids took a picture with her. We had the best time.
Delicious meal, generous portions, and attentive service. With Restaurant.com certificates, we can afford to eat here more often than we might otherwise.
Food is delicious and service is good
Awesome place, great authentic food and very attentive staff. We'll be back for sure.
Veal Schnitzel and Sausage Sampler were both terrible in terms of quality, taste, and flavor.
They charged me $5 for a tiny bowl of gravy...unbelievable and unacceptable. When I asked about it I was essentially told, "too bad, that's what they do". They should realize this gouging loses customers!
It was great, especially with the live accordion music and singing.
Service was good but food was fair.
Food, atmosphere, service all great
What a great hidden gem with fast and friendly service!
very nice atmosphere.
We've always had good German food at Cafe Mozart in the past. This time, not so much. Two of us wanted to split a schnitzel and in the past the kitchen has plated the halves for us. This time we had to do it ourselves. It was supposed to be a veal schnitzel and it may have been. We couldn't tell for sure. Whatever it was, it was under cooked and had a muscle or tendon running through it so that it was impossible to cut.
Good food, generous portions, prompt service, reasonable prices
great food in comfortable surroundings with pleasant and attentive wait staff
Great ambiance, delicious food. Feels like a hidden gem.
Great tasting authentic German food. Live entertainment was a huge bonus

Food was wonderful, server was very helpful with suggestions
Delicious and authentic German food! Nice atmosphere, attentive service, nice selection of entrees and an accordion player to make the dining experience even better!
Absolutely a wonderful experience. The food is great! And so is the service!
The food was good and the presentation was nice..
great service. Wonderful server and the food was very good.
The rahm schnitzel, wurst sampler, and sides were all outstanding, and our server (Alina) was prompt, attentive, and charming.
The food was plentiful and authenticOur server Linda was wonderful
The poppy strudel was awful
Fast service and server took interest in making sure that what I wanted was what I got.
Prices were high, especially the $8 beers. And the prices were higher than I found on the web before going there
In my opinion, the entrees were overpriced.
Great food
The appetizer (potato pancakes) was awful but our entrees were good but not great. The service was very good.
The salads were poor. The main course was served tepid. Wasn't terrific either. It was a Sunday.
Pleasant surroundings; enjoyed the german accordion music; service excellent
Food and service were great!
Service was very good. Restaurant had a nice atmosphere and the food was very good.
fantastic staff and delicious authentic food!
Our server (the German waitress) was fantastic!
Our 2nd time there and the food is just outstanding, incredibly quick service for such a wide variety of items we ordered. A smaller, quaint location that just leaves you feeling like royalty.
Great Food!
Great food and great service. Had Hungarian goulash and the sausage sampler. Very charming small cafe.
Delicious food (mostly German), excellent service, moderate prices, pleasant ambiance with live piano music.
Only two issues ... The Pork Schnitzel was not quite as tender as it should have been. The bread served when you are seated was a bit dry. On the other hand, the salads as well as sauerkraut and vegetable side dishes were delicious, as was the Veal Schnitzel.
Excellent food and delightful setting.
One of the best German meals we've had outside of Germany ... and we're from Denmark so we know good German food.
the food was superb and the service, properly attentive. the waitress was juggling a lot but she managed to keep up! give the woman a bonus!
Authentic German/Austrian dinner with great service. Very generous portions.
Food and service are always excellent.
Food was very good.
Great service, even though they were busy. Also had a pianist playing, who was very enjoyable to hear.
Love Linda. She is a great personality and awesome server.
This was an excellent dining experience. They had wonderful entertainment by a lady playing an acordian Bavarian music. The food tasted great and we can't wait to return again.
Good food and service
I love that they're willing to substitute for me as I don't like red cabbage or saurkraut.
Delightful employees, wonderful food, and love the piano playing.
Great Service. Authentic German Faire!
Live music
Greg and the entire crew is amazing--efficient, friendly and inviting. and the food is consistently EXCELLENT and authentic!
No matter when I have to this Restaurant, service has been great. The food, for the cost, is excellent. If I could afford it I would eat here every day.
Very good food ( a bit large servings), great waitress.
I cannot be more impressed with this little 'hole in the wall' German restaurant.
The atmosphere is great (tucked in the back of a deli), the service is fantastic (really friendly and helpful waiter), and the food is delicious (with good portions as well!). Definitely get the potato pancakes!
We love the food and the server was very attentive this evening.
Don't let the entrance to this place fool you, it is very deceiving! You need to walk through a nothing special deli to get to the restaurant in a back room. I almost walked away when I walked up to the place because of the setup. Glad I did not! The food was excellent, service was excellent, live music (piano player from Vienna) was a nice added touch. I would definitely say this is a little hidden treasure in DC.
The Sauerbraten was really authentic - meat, gravy, spices. And the portion was more than adequate.
Good food. Nice atmosphere. Very good service
German food, like what I ate at Frankfurt
our server was fabulous food was wonderful there was an accordion player from Austria who was so pleasant and wonderfulthe whole experience was great
Maybe a dessert tray would be good!
We had an excellent and comical server and although it was busy, we felt well attended to.
Food marginal. service poor
Delicious food.
It always strikes me how out of place Cafe Mozart feels, tucked between two nondescript office building on H street. Yet there you find, behind (somewhat overpriced) German specialty store, excellent south-German dishes, in a great atmosphere and always served with a smile.
Excellent, I mean EXCELLENT, service (recommendations for food selections, and seating), outstanding food (venison), perfect German atmosphere. Well attended restaurant, attesting to its popularity.
Combination of great service and fine food!
They were kind, courteous, and efficient. They anticipated our needs before we did and made us feel very welcome. The food was excellent, well-prepared, a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds. Thank you
Great German food and kind waitress. VERY tasty food, and decent service. Meats were very tender and flavorful. Only downfall was a lemon-less lemon roulade. Worth a visit!

Very nice atmosphere, although the food was just ok. A bit too pricy, but not bad.
Excellent food...very tasty. The staff offers great advice on the food and wine. Half of the fun is shopping in the deli after dinner
Friendly environment with excellent food selection.
good food and music and general atmospherenote that its cash only payment with the certificate! have some cash on you :)
The lighting in the restaurant is a bit bright - would be more soothing to have softer lights.
Great owner/manager, waiter, good food and pleasant decor.
The menu online at restaurant.com included a section titled Fondue Fun which was not available at the restaurant. This was my only disappointment with the experience, it was otherwise superb.
food was wonderful
Everything is superior! The cooking is authentic and delicious and the service we received from Linda Byron was exemplary! I wish I could live here!
Loved our server Linda(?)
Very nice experience, good food, good service, nice piano music.
Pork schnitzel was overcooked, tough. This is a thin cut and should be cooked quickly; many people overcook it. Sausages were good.
Cafe Mozart is one of the most authentic restaurants in DC. The staff members are professional and friendly, and the good tremendous. so is the cafe and imported treats
this is a really unique and fun place to go, if you enjoy German food! It was our anniversary and we were "serenaded" by the yodeling accordian player - what a kick! Food was really tasty.
Both the food and service was outstanding. Not only would I visit it again for myself, I would also recommend it to my friends/family to it.
Goulash was really bad, just pot roast w/gravy - schnitzel was tough - someone not waiter came to our table when we complained and insuated my husband was lying about poor quality of food. POOR customer service.
There was something very peaceful about the place. They have the bar/lounge out front, and the small relaxing, yet romantic like atmosphere in the back!
Very good food and excellent service. It is close to our office (IDB) so a good place to go for a special lunch.
Delicious sausages, potato salad, sauerkraut. Server was very good, and ensured that our initial sausage meal was served as appetizer, as requested. Will return!
Loved the food and the service was exceptional! Would definitely go there again, however, we live out of state!
My wife and I were celebrating our honeymoon there. They made our honeymoon. The food was great! The accordian player was funny and sounded great. They gave us complimentary champaign since it was our honeymoon. The food was delicious and I'm telling everyone about this place!
We were there this past Saturday evening...dining room was extremely hot. Piano playing is a nice touch but softer playing is prefered..it was difficult to hear my quests talking at the table. Otherwise, food was wonderful and service was very good.
Food was wonderful. It's hard to find a German restaurant.
An excellent dining experience.
Please do not send me promotional emails.
Fish was a little dry, maybe more lemons or a delicate sauce would help.
The food was tasteless
Excellent service and cozy atmosphere. Very good schnitzels, even though this is my first schnitzel. However, the rest of my party agree wholehertedly with me. I can't forget the cherry crepes. We orderred one for the party, but we should have ordered at least two. They were very, very good.
Restaurant food was good, but overpriced considering the same food was available in the cafe at a fraction of the cost. No real European atmosphere.
Great place. Great food and service
Cafe Mozart is one of those hidden gems in the DC area - hidden behind a German bakery. I am of German ancestry and have tried a lot of German restaurants, but Cafe Mozart wins hands-down on the quality of their food. We tried their Cherry Blossom special dessert tonight and couldn't believe the wonderful blend of tastes in the crepes.
Server Linda was very gracious when one of our party was significantly due to unscheduled work demands. Sylvia is always a trip on the accordion. and the food is authentically good.
Food, service, atmosphere, and Wed evening live entertainment (strolling accordian) were all delightful.
The only thing that was not convenient in this coupon is that the payment had to be made in cash.
The staff at Mozart is amazing. Efficient, friendly and just amazing. and the food is authentic, dependably top notch and varied. Thanks for a great dinner!
Great place. A city landmark.
I love the updated look!
Pleasant meal and nice service
Our waitress (I think her name was Dina) was extremely friendly. We enjoyed her service so much. The food was excellent, too. Everything from appetizers to desserts was beyond our expectations.
This is our second time eating there and it was, again, an excellent experience. The food and service were both top notch. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the d.c. area craving authentic German cuisine!
Great service, great food and where else can you get someone else to yodel happy birthday en Deutsch?
I moved to DC 4 months ago and I enjoy learning about the many types of foods available. Cafe Mozart offers a wonderful experience with foods which are unusual to me. The menu was extensive and presentation simple. My husband and enjoyed our lunch and look forward to returning.
The clam chowder was awful. The chicken corden bleu was excellent. I thought the waitress was a bit pushy. the piano player was very good.Overall it was a good experience.
I have not had German food this good since I was in Germany!
If you want to eat German, this restaurant has a nice German menu, a large choice of desserts, and live music on the weekends.
The food was tasted authentic and I loved the piano music.
Th entertainment was festive, and the service was friendly and attentive. The bar was quite comfortable and well stocked, the food was good.
Great dining experience!
One of the people in our party had lived in Germany for three years and he said that Cafe Mozart was great.
The music/entertainment was a bit loud, it was hard to talk with it in the background but i liked the food a lot!
Growing up in DC, I have known about and been in love with Cafe Mozart all my life. It is my favorite restaurant. And I just love German food. I go often.
Linda is a wonderful waitress, and the food was magnificant as always!
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and the classical pianist was an added bonus to a lovely evening. We will definitely eat here again.
It can get expensive, but its well worth it. I always go when I get a certificate from Restaurant.com.
The food was good - we are visitors to DC and looked forward to this experience. Nice location, good ambiance. My only complaint is the Napoleon that I had for dessert. I have eaten Napoleons all over the world and this is the sweetest one I have ever tried to eat. They could cut the sugar in half and have plenty of sweetness.
