Terrific food and atmosphere
Tortellini al gorgonzola were delicious!!! Good music and good service:)
good rigatoni and a side of meatballs. Could use bigger pieces of sausage in rigatoni
The owner is warm and friendly. The server was rather rude and put off when we asked for napkins when he served our drinks. As the evening wore on he got better but he was not the best server.
Very cute, friendly atmosphere, nice selection of wines by the glass for such a small place. Bacon wrapped dates were very good.

Cafe Ciao is small and cozy. The owner, Julie, is delightful. Food is fresh, drinks are good, wine selection is varied. Good place for quiet conversation (we were the sole diners at 5 on a Monday). Music is older jazz and not loud, there's live music on Fridays/Saturdays. One thing, if you don't use or like salt, ask for the Caprese tomato salad without it. It was an easy walk from the Metra on Madison.
For most part food was good, but our flatbread was excessively salty....
Very tasty small plates at reasonable prices and good wine selection; comfortable, quiet and cozy atmosphere; would definitely go back!

The service wasn't great. We sat with our food at our table waiting for silverware for over 7 minutes. We also waited a long time for our food and the first time it came out, it was the wrong food. The food was good, but so close to Little Italy, there is much better for the same price.
Great little spot. We went early, 6:30 pm, and the service and lounge felt a little cold and uninviting. However, as the night progressed, the atmosphere changed and experience was pleasant. My only suggestion would be to make sure you create that same inviting experience no matter what time it is.

Very attentive waiter. Good food and value. Nice music, but perhaps just a little loud. Ran out of the wine we wanted after just one glass.
the pasta sauce was very salty.
Everything at this place was amazing. The only reason the food was a 4 was the empanadas - they were clearly store bought and not as good as everything else. The tiramisu was out of this world!
