The waiter asked if we would like bread before our meal, but did not mention we would be charged for it. Also, this was our first time eating Indian cuisine. My husband and I both found out we do not really care for it. My husband's food was so spicy he couldn't even eat it. The bread was delicious though and the atmosphere was great for a dinner date.

While the food was good it was very Americanized version (very bland spices). Also a 30% tip is added on automatically as well which I did not care for at all.We go to Passage To India (Charlotte) once a week and love them to death from their food taste, price, service are top notch.

before when I came the nana bread was free, now they charge. Bread should also be free meal and even a soup or salad should be provided.

Food was amazing and the host/hostess who greeted us were lovely, but our server was not terribly helpful or present. We could hear the party next to us discussing their unhappiness as well. For a place that beautiful and upscale, you expect your server to be warm and friendly, offer suggestions, and generally want you to have a great experience. There just wasn't much interest shown. We waited for a good while for our check and it put us really behind schedule.
Server was really not concerned for our business. Very delayed and slow service. It took more than 10 minutes to bring our check and then bring our change back.

My husband got the dumplings & fingerlings-very salty. My murgh tikka masala was perfect as always. Dad's lamb curry was good.. Service was not good. Waiter disappeared after serving food. Took a while to flag him down to tell him food was salty. When he finally showed up, he insisted on bringing a new dish even though my husband didn't want it replaced. Waiter wouldn't listen. Love Copper but service isn't great. Prefer to get take out.
Excellent gluten free selection and assistance with the menu. We did order meatball appetizer that came 2 to a plate and ended up with 2 plates (since we had 3 people). It was assumed that we wanted enough for each person, however we were only intending on sharing one appetizer. Maybe next time we could ask how many meatballs on each plate or waiter could explain only 2 per appetizer.

As a first time visitor, I expected the server to offer recommendations proactively but he did a good job when asked directly. (We stated at the beginning it was our first visit.) Also, we were seated quickly but our server did not appear for a while after we were seated.

The food just wasnt up to quality. I ordered a chicken and vegetables with the white sauce on the side. Cost 26 dollars. thought that was pretty unreasonable.

Our waiter was inadequate. We told him it was our first time at Copper and didn't know much about Indian food yet he didn't explain anything to us. I also need to say that the customer service rep at Restaurants.com told me I could COMBINE certificates at one restaurant. Copper did not allow this. I probably won't use Restaurant.com or go to Copper again.
The main entrees were really good, but the appetizer (we had the scallops) was a really small portion & not cooked well. Our overall experience was good though!

The restaurant is in an old house, nicely decorated. While the menu has some traditional dishes, it was the 'fusion' plates that were the most fun and delicious! Some of the servers' accents were a little hard to understand, but that added to the authenticity.

Lovely, cozy restaurant, many rooms to choose from. Servers know their cuisine & wine. We had a wonderful dining experience and will return. Highly recommended for those who want traditional Indian cusisine or some modern fusion concepts. I had traditional chicken tikka masala, my husband a unique trout dish, crispy but not greasy. Service was great, food was great - it's hard to get an "excellent" out of me after 28 years of dining at Manhattan's best restaurants, but this is a KEEPER!! Kudos to all!!

The main chicken dish that I ordered Takka was not very good. The appetizers were better. The duck was good.
i was a disappointed on this visit - there were not more than 10 other customers in the restaurant and our food took over 30 minutes to come to our table - a little long for lunch hour. when the food did come, it was not flavored hot pepper as requested, the naan bread was cold and onions were not brought out with lunch. after 5 more minutes, onions were brought, but no lemon or chat masala. we had to request HOT fresh naan - and that took another 5 minutes. i would have thought that if no customers were there, it should not have taken so long and / or fresh naan should have been brought out. Was truly a disappointing visit. i will be back, but not any time soon.

I love Indian cuisine and have eaten at many different restaurants. While the food at Copper was good, the 2 dishes I sampled lacked the complicated layers of flavor normally found in Indian food. I would describe it as Indian food cooked for the more bland American taste.

This restaurant has always been one of our favorites but food was cold and staff was not what we are used to at Copper We got the feeling that it has changed hands since our last visit.

Usually not a big fan of Indian cuisine, but I really enjoy this place!
Went there on Valentines day with my wife. Out of the two entree's we ordered.. Goat Cheese Kofta was amazing.. Rasiley Aloo & Pakode - was waste of money (It was just tomato sauce & 4 peices of potato with 4 fritters).. Cost - $17. That was the better part... I went there with colleagues for Lunch couple of times.. & they give Bread & Rice with the entree. Our waited Lied to us saying we have to order Bread separately. After we finished the bread.. another friendly waiter asked us 'Do u need more bread'... Then i noticed that they were giving Naan (bread) free with the entrees at other tables. Was in a mood for dessert but did not feel like eating there.. Had it outside. Though he cheated us for 10 bucks.. the whole experience made us unwelcome and we will not return there.... We have more restaurants to choose from... It's they who are in need of customers.

We were told on arrival we could not use our certificate for our dinner because it was a special weekend. On the website it didn't mention this for this resturant. The waiter later agreed to allow us to use the certificate. The service was good and the food was good as well. Resturant a bit crowded.

The Spicy Scallops Dish was Exquisite. The Curry Sauce for the Chicken dish was very nice. I didn't enjoy the chicken since it was not as tender as a clay oven would have made it but the sauce made up for all that. The Service was impeccable!

The atmosphere was enjoyable, and the staff friendly. We both loved the Gun Powder Prawns. However the Subz Char Chandni was so bland. I never would've guessed I was eating Indian food had I not known I was in an Indian restaurant. We would return but don't feel like the flavor qualifies the cost.
I keep bringing new guests because I love this place so much - I just have to spread the word - Copper is the best place to eat in Charlotte.
We felt that the waiter kept forgetting us. First, our drinks and then our dessert. He was not accommodating at all, his attitude was almost as if we were an inconvenience. However, we love the food at COPPER and will visit again soon.
If they had not included the 18% gratuity into the bill, our server would have received a 20% gratuity instead, since that is my standard. I prefer to be given the choice, however, of how much gratuity to add unless, of course, I'm with a very large party.
They added 18% graduaty on total bill, rather then after Restaurant.com coupon.

We were placed at a table in a corner of the restaurant. There was a cat odor in that area that was quite pungent. Could not tell where it was coming from, whether under the floorboard or outside. Some of the food was a bit bland.

The food was delicious! The restaurant was very bust, and the service received suffered because of it. Waiter was pleasant enough, but absent most of the evening. Waited 10 min. when seated for water, waited too long for wine to be served, waited for check to arrive, and waited much too long for waiter to pick up the check and run credit card.

There need to be so many things that need to be improved at copper. To begin with - the lighting. The lighting is so dim, you can't even see or read the menu. I had to use the flash light of my cell. The menu itself is trash quality, stained printed paper with stains from water and wine shouldn't be called as menu. Food was okay but not for the value of money. A BIG NO for this restaurant from me.

WORST INDIAN FOOD EVER HAD...!!!!! NOT THE PLACE WHERE YOU CAN GET THE INDIAN FOOD...!!!! ME BEING AN INDIAN NEVER FELT SO BAD ABOUT THE FOOD...!!!! IF ANYONE LOOKING FOR TYPICAL INDIAN FOOD, NEVER VISIT THIS PLACE.!! ONLY "GOOD THING" ABOUT THIS PLACE.. IS THE AMBIENCE.., THOUGH CONJUSTED.!!!
I've always wanted to try Copper and the certificate made it the perfect opportunity. Loved the food, server wasn't too friendly when we asked him to explain menu items. A little pricey for us for any given night but will keep in mind for special occasions.
Service was a little slow, and had we not had theater tickets it would have been fine. Had to ask someone else for our check and even then it was slow arriving.
The food was fabulous and the service was great! We will be coming back with friends.
Don't book the whole restaurant with reservations; maybe save a few tables for walk-ins, but we ate in the bar which still a great experience...thanks!

I have dined at Copper at least 4 times and on each visit the food has always been absolutely outstanding, as well as the service. I would definitely dine here again and would highly recommend this restaurant.
A little beat expensive
Food was good, however it's a little pricey for Indian food. I didn't like being asked to wait in the bar when we entered the very empty restaurant. That felt like we were on the major upsell. We just wanted to eat and go catch a movie, not waste time in the bar waiting for a table in an empty restaurant!
Food quality was poor, had much better Indian food in other restaurants in Charlotte. Definitely overpriced.
Wouldn't go back. Large prices for average tasting food.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. A very romantic setting as well. Food is very expensive lol so The coupon didn't help much as we still had to pay over 60 dollars for the food but it was a great experience
Portions were extremely small, took 30 minutes for an appetizer to arrive.
Dinner at Copper was one of the highlights of our 16th anniversary. We had great food, excellent service, and a fun time. Looking forward to going to Copper again.
The waiter forgot about us, when we asked a passing waiter she replied she he had gone so we had been waiting for an hour+ for our bill to arrive while he had left.
PRICEY FOR THE AMOUNT OF FOOD SERVED. ALSO BOTH MY FRIEND AND I HAD ABDOMINAL PAIN AFTER LUNCH AT THIS RESTAURANT.
dishes were delightful, creative and well presented. Definately will come back, especially for the spicy sauce with lamb!

Best Indian food I've ever eaten.
I LOVE copper. Usually it is a bit out of my price range, and saved for special occasions, but the coupon makes it affordable for a regular day.
Great food, loved the service, wonderful ambience. Look forward to visiting again.
The low overall rating is due to our being seated outside next to a family with a very young child that screamed constantly during our meal. I know it was not the restaurant's fault but it was not a pleasant experience.

We love good Indian food, and that's what we got at Copper Modern. Love the atmosphere, the service. The pace was relaxed and our evening relaxing.
There were no tables open when we got there so we sat at bar. Atmosphere was fantastic! But food was just so-so. For the restaurant to be so expensive, I would have expected the food to be much better.
We love Blue Taj and visited Copper because we heard they were connected. Honestly, we felt Copper was not any better--though it is more expensive AND it was uncommonly dark in the room where we dined. I could barely read the menu. We will just continue to visit Blue Taj. :)

The food was very good and the entire staff was very polite. They checked on my party to ensure that all was well and treated us as their guest.
Love Copper and bought the coupon because of it...not the other way around (i.e. bought the coupon, so went). But it did ultimately encourage me to go over another restaurant.
The server remembered us from 2 months prior! The food has always been excellent and the service too.

I have dined at the sister restaurant, Blue Taj, and preferred both the food and the service there.
I took my friend for her birthday. I really appreciated the little piece of cake with a candle in it they brought at the end of our meal. Very nice touch.
Copper is a favorite restaurant but the service is very slow and while the Tikka Masala is still very good, it's not quite as good as it was a couple years ago.
The food was very good, but I would have considered it overpriced if not for the Restaurant.com certificate. The service was very gracious.
We enjoyed our experience very much! Will be back again, happy to find a new restaurant in Dilworth!

Ordered a 2007 vintage wine, and was given a 2009 vintage. Made server aware and he apologized. We accepted it, anyway.
Service was a little slow due to a large party they had in back. The server did take care of us at the end with something sweet. Overall the dining experience was good.

Really dry chicken. Poorly executed dishes. Blue Taj is exponentially better (ie every single thing there is amazing, whereas every single thing we got here was horrifying).
