Food was great, service was good and we especially enjoyed meeting Martha one of the family members who own the restaurant. She was so nice I want to go back just to talk with her. And food was OUTSTANDINGLY DELICIOUS.
The atmosphere is nice, the decor is contemporary and open. Everyone who works here is extremely nice and very friendly. The food is great.
Service was VERY SLOW. Wait staff were not engaging, very unorganized....not all meals received at same time, Wait Staff appeared uninterested. FYI - My dinner party was comprised of three Ethiopians and one Caucasian...we also communicated in native tongue...which did not improve service

The lighting made it very difficult to read the menu. We had a difficult time understanding the accents of the wait staff, however the restaurant seemed very authentic and the people very sincere.

My wife and I have enjoyed Ethiopian food before, but Desta was some of the best we've had. Not only that, but my 11-year-old and 9-year-old -- normally picky eaters -- loved it. My 6-year-old? Well...not so much. But four out of five ain't bad.
The food was delicious and the service was great. We will definitely be going back!
The food was very tasty. However the atmosphere was... eclectic. There were many TVs in the restaurant which was distracting. It made it feel like a sports bar, but the decor was more like a trendy dance place.
