The food just isn't as good as it used to be. This used to be one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area but is no longer.
Menu changes and incorrect ingredients in certain dishes. Otherwise more bland than usual as well.

Food and Service were great. Josh was very attentive and helpful. Thank you.
We arrived before it got busy. (Only 2 other tables occupied) our food came out in waves. 2 meals. Then 5 min later a meal, then 6min later the last meal which was actually an appetizer... We usually really enjoy the food. But today our steak was dry and hard, the same with the chicken.. Overcooked dry and hard. Our favorite place was NOT our favorite today. The waitress was polite but seemed overwhelmed once it got busy it was game over. The other waiter was helpful and picked up where she forgot things.
Quick, friendly service. Great prices, great food.
Food is always amazing! Fresh ingredients and huge menu. Staff is super friendly and attentive.
We were instantly met and walked to a great table by the windows. Our waitress was attentive and friendly and very helpful.
The guest service is excellent! The owner is usually working with the team. The food has flavor and great taste.
I enjoy the food and the service. But every time I go in its stuffy/hot in there. Almost unbearably so. Please just bump the air down a couple of degrees!
Outsite dining area is the bomb...bring a pooch, sip a great margarita and watch traffic and the clouds. Shrimp "cerviche" cocktail is a meal to savor in itself. way better than just good Mexican food...inside is nice Saturday football site, too.
Owners are welcoming and treat you like family. Serving staff are all pleasant, friendly and genuine.
This restaurant has the best variety of Mexican food in the area. The menu includes the standard fare along with dishes I've never heard of, all prepared with fabulous sauces. Service is always great with a very friendly staff.
Consistently friendly but poor service. Food never comes out together. Takes forever even when slow.
Food was delicious!
Great customer service and friendly environment.
Very good food and service.
I love El Rio. We go pretty often especially Wednesday night for $3 Tropical Margaritas. Last night was a bit slower than normal. Typically our food and drinks come out almost within 15 minutes. Of course the food tasted amazing even if it did take a little longer.
Great Margaritas, Wonderful Staff.
Don't know if it was all the server's fault as the kitchen and bar may have been understaffed, but our drinks and food were extremely slow. The first plate and the last plate brought to the table were 10 minutes apart making dining awkward. There were only 5 tables seated in the whole place. But...the food was pretty good once it got to us. Would try again with a coupon, but would be looking for better service.
waitress was very nice and non pushy and accomidated our requests
Shrimp cocktail was large, a near ceviche-like concoction in a tomato base with avocado and crunchy jalapeno bits. Margareta was house made smooth and priced right. Grande burrito had beef, chicken and pork and Mexican love with enough for the next day's lunch House Special Seafood entrée was fried crunchy calamari, grilled talipa, shrimp & salmon; all done right and ready for a dunk in the salsa.
Food was SO GOOD. Our waiters name was Leon and he was always smiling and very friendly.
