Great service. Comfortable atmosphere 4 blocks from Laguna Beach.
Olive tapenade starter was excellent - with three different tapenades served with warm pita. Loved the Greek salad followed by Kabob with tasty grilled tomatoes and rice. Live entertainment is always enjoyable, too.
The food was great but unfortunately, the service was not. We waited about 5 minutes to be seated... there was no one at the hostess station and someone in the bar area finally let the bus person know we were waiting. He was the one who seated us. There were only about 10 people that were just finishing their meals at the time we arrived, 2 tables and the remnants of a birthday party, with two waitresses on duty. We placed our order after about another 5-10 minutes and only saw the waitress one other time when she briefly asked if the meal was good. we finished our meal and sat waiting for her to come check on us again to see if we needed any boxes for our food, but she never did. We had already made plans in what we wanted for dessert. After about 15-20 minutes of waiting for someone, I finally stood up and walked over the bus person and asked him if he could please get us some boxes for our leftovers. The waitress came over a few minutes later and boxed them up. We decided not to order dessert... didn't want to wait forever for that too, and left. Food was great but service was very disappointing. Probably won't go back.
The chef came out to explain their specials and the manager stopped by to know how everything was - they care. It was a good dinner and a nice experience.
The ambiance , live music, service, and exquisite food are so refreshingly different and surpass the chatterbox and crowded venues of nearby restaurants
Great Food and Management. Will go again.
The restaurant ambiance was intimate and we really enjoyed the live music by Kevin Shima. However we were very distracted with the colorful track lights, changing and shining in our direction. As for the appetizer, the hummus was lacking in flavor and consistency was not as thick as I would expect it to be and the pita was too crunchy. Our entrees were good, but not exceptional, again they were a bit bland. As for the hostess, it was obvious he was not interested in being there, at least that was our first impression walking in. Our waiter on the other hand was attentive, and took care of us. Overall, I wish I enjoyed the restaurant more than what I experienced on a Saturday evening.
food was very good, music was very enjoyable, service was good but not excellent cause our server was also the bartender.
Service was bad and the place was almost empty. Food was actually tasty but we only ordered two appetizers and we were there for almost 2 hours. Took forever!
Very noisy. The singer wasn't the greatest. Our server, Emily, was the best.
Great food and service. The musician Cory Case was awesome.

Fantastic food and drink. Huge plus of having the wonderful "lounge" singer...
Our specific service was good, but the employees should be a little more careful of how they're talking when they can be overheard by customers. Also, really enjoyed the live music that started while we were there.
their seabass was excellent,chicken pasta with pink sauce very good.liked thier stuffed grape leaves,and dips for appetizers.did not like kabobs though.there deserts are good,tiramasu and creme brulee especially.the seabass is an off menu item they have almost all the time,and a very good value with resturant , com. make sure you make a reservation through open table and get your 1000 points!!!{10 dollars}
Music was great--the main reason we went there.
MUSIC DEF TOO LOUD FOR ONLY 10 PEOPLE IN REST$4.25 FOR A CUP OF DECAF IS RIDICULOUS! SAID IT TO MGR/HE TOOK $2.00 OFF ON COFFEE
Really, excellent. From the greeting to the exit. I had tiger shrimp kabob and it was perfect, my husband had salmon and it was also perfect. As was dessert and my drink. We will be going back again. Cute place too. Nice music.
Server was perfectly pleasant and helpful. Food quality was possibly the worst meal we have had in recent memory. Inedible!
we had the chilean seabass this time, which was excellant.
HAD SUNDAY BRUNCH,THE FOOD WAS GREAT AS ALWAYS,THE CHAMPAGNE FLOWED FREELY AND THE WAITRESS WAS EXCELLENT.
Pasta dishes excellent. Shrimp kebab skimpy with at least 4 times as much rice as I would normally eat.
service & food was excellent
service & food was excellent
Food was excellent and so was service.Very enjoyable experience. Will definitely return.
I can not remember having a better meal.
The music was too loud. It was hard to talk, later at night it would be o.k.
food good, all enjoyed
Salad came out at the same time as the main course. Although one person did not receive her salad and we were still charged for it. My meat was over cooked. These were not difficult things to get right. I was not impressed
Our meal was prepared and cooked to perfection
Service was excellent. Food was very good.
very relaxing - good service - casual
Generous and well-prepared entrees, excellent service
Food was good, service was good. Pretty weak live music that was playing a little too loud.
their quality is not as good as it used to be,the place was empty at 6 on a sunday.there food so so,think twice about going back.been dining there for a year, hope there quality picks up for there sake.
Great ambiance with dim lighting and live music. Very romantic. Vegetable risotto was delicious. Asian Persuasion salad missed the mark...sounded yummy in the description but wasn't worth the $26 price tag. Gnocchi was the best item we ordered. Mushroom sauce was perfect.
Although Port has a limited menu, their selections fit our taste perfectly. The meals were very well prepared, the service was prompt and friendly, and we enjoyed the early evening live entertainment.
world cousine.
Neighborhood Gem, excellent calamari and kabobs.
this was our first visit, and went there at 5;30 when they opened to beat the rush.found it very cosi, and the food was great,we had the port prime filet platter.there tiramisu for desert was the best i have eaton.visit this place during the week for less crowds.
Two negatives: a distinctly musty odor upon entering the restaurant and a non-smiling hostess.
Found then when looking for a Restaurant.com restaurant to eat at.
The menu offered Mediterranean fare. Everyone in our group of seven loved their entree & wine, including the vegan. Service was excellent. Live entertainment was enjoyable. We are anxious to try other entrees. Only negatives were two groups of very loud diners that made it difficult to hear the music and talk at our table.
Excellent entertainment on a Monday night.
The food was amazing, service was great would go back again, for sure.
Very, very pricy wine.
I had the sea bass special and the fish was a little over cooked. Enjoyed the restaurant though and would recommend it
The entire staff was attentive and charming. We sat beside the fireplace. Will definitely return to try other entree's.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere!
Very pleasant neighborhood restaurant. Music was a little loud but enjoyable.
There were 2 people smioking near the bar, I was told by one of the staff that one table in the middle of the dining room was considered a patio and it was OK to smoke. Awful smoke and smell permeated the entire area and we left. Hard to believe you allow smoking inside when you have a nice patio out front.
The gnocchi was spectacular! Also had the beet salad, delicious. The filet was cooked perfectly and the red wine Stilton sauce was so yummy! Wish I had room for dessert. Oh the jumbo prawns were too spicy. Great ambiance, music, and decor.
We've eaten at Port several times in the past year. Mostly, we've eaten in the bar - the menu seems better and we like the interaction with the bar tenders. This time, however, we chose to eat in the main dining area because we had our 15 year old son with us.After the waiter took our first drink order, we didn't see or hear from him for, at least, 30 minutes, and that was after I had to track him down in the bar.I ordered the t-bone special. I ordered the meat medium-rare. When it was presented, it was well-done. I'm not one to return food to the kitchen so I just muddled through it and figured I'd let you know here, on this site.I now know why we have always eaten in the bar. The center courtyard, which is directly adjacent to the main dining room, allows smoking. I felt like I was eating out of an ashtray all night. The smoke was so prevalent that my eyes burned and we skipped desert and got the hell out.I love this restaurant - we simply made a couple poor choices that resulted in an unsatisfactory experience... this time. Next time, we sit in the bar.
I live very close to Port (about a block away) but had never been there for dinner. When I saw they were on restaurant.com I decided to try it out. We loved it! Our server provided great recommendations.
Ambiance is great and food is too. Why I will not go there again is because the waiter had the audacity to automaticly include a 20% tip in the final bill. Also, PLASTIC bottle of Fiji water = $8 and they dont let you know the price or give you a tap water option. At least use glass bottle if you want to rip people off.
I've been here twice and great experience at both times!
OUTSTANDING restaurant and food. Incredibly varied menu. Will be back soon and often.
Food on the pricey side. Wanted to order just drinks and appetizers (as a test of the restaurant), but was told we each had to order an entree since it was Saturday night. Service was excellent, music was great.
We all three enjoyed the food and service very much. Trevor helped to make this a great 93rd birthday for my step-mother. Thank you!
Very welcoming and good service. They were having a "private party" so we didn't sit in the main dining room. We had Persian style kabobs and the quality was pretty good.
the food and service were very good and we will definitely go again
People were smoking in the main restaurant area, awful experience for us, we paid and left as no one was interested in asking the smokers to go outside. We came to see the piano player on Thursday night, he is great. We will go see him at one of the other places he plays.
Ate at this restaurant a few years ago when it was under another management. We enjoyed the ambiance and food greatly.
Atmosphere, food and service was great. I would definitely return for dinner.
Great ambiance! Love the live music :)Will return for sure!
We had a great experience at Port. Friendly service, beautiful ambience and high quality food. I'm glad they participate with Restaurant.com!
Great place, great food, great people. Will definitely be back there often.
I am so glad that Restaurant.com enabled me to find this gem of a restaurant. It is kind of hidden, and wouldn't have found it otherwise. We took my mom there for her birthday and the discount made the dinner even more enjoyable.
White wine was served warm: a no no. Potatoes were a bit too firm. Music was louder than necessary. However, we will return.
