Food is always great
A bit slower service. My order came out wrong but waiter apologized and corrected it.

We ordered Taco salads with chicken they were the best we had ever eaten anywhere if you've not eaten here you owe it to yourself
Wait staff was everywhere but no one could help food was ok but not worth the time and
we didn't get any tortillas with our fajitas to go order... need larger containers of salsa

Loud, crowded tables, and poor service. The chicken was tender but lacked seasoning. We hardly saw the server. She didn't check to see if needed refills. She didn't offer dessert menus. We sat for 10 mins waiting for the check.

Exceptional customer service and large portion of food.
The wait staff is always very hel pful the food is excellent this is a Tex-Mex style of Mexican food always good
We ordered from the lunch section of the regular menu, not the "lunch specials" that are only Monday through Friday 11-2 (time may be off a little), and was told we'd have to pay $1 extra per meal because it was a Saturday. The menu did not indicate this extra pricing for regular lunch section.
The food was decent but the chicken was too greasy. Had ACP and there was more grease than cheese.
I ordered the baja fish tacos and the empanada platter appetizer. Both delicious!! That grilled pinepaple salsa that comes in a dish on the side of the fish tacos is perfection!!! The epanadas are large and stuffed, enough for four people to each have one. The server, Stephania, had great response time, friendly not invasive, and got my order right (I ordered flour tortillas instead of corn for the fish tacos). I forgot to take pics of the beautiful plates. I highly recommend these two dishes! My only complaint is that I felt cold in the restaurant. However, if it had not been raining outside, I would have sat outside on the patio by the water fountain.

They made a mistake on my order.
They were busy as usual on a Say night and the food was great, but service was slow. And it took us a while just to get silverware and napkins. Also they calculated our bill incorrectly at first. I may not go back as we have found other Mexican places better lately.

Good mexican selection. As with most restaurants with employees who grew up in another country, some never smile and almost look like they're pushing themselves to serve you; however, most do not delay their service to the customer. It doesn't cost the server to treat you with courtesy and mean it. Probably would increase tips! Our female server the other day was very good.
It would be helpful if San Jose had their own website with their current menu. The menus available online do not match the one in the restaurant.
There are no menus so be sure to ask the price of items.

I had the pork tacos. The pork was tender and I love the cilantro, but the sauce was too spicy. I had asked and was told spicy but this was just too much.

Fontina does it right. We are always greeted warmly by the owners and our favorite waiter/bartender, Bobby. The service is attentive, the food is superb, the portions are generous and the entree includes your choice of a salad or soup. You get your money's worth every time.
