Love this place!
Staff were all smiles, laughing, talking. Very friendly.
Great food and always excellent service. Eveey sraff member goes out of their way to help each other.
Nice waiters very good food, the salsa needs help (flavor) . The white dip was great
Always good food and a fun light hearted environment
The gentleman that greeted, took our order, cooked the food and served us, was the most pleasant, friendly guy that we really appreciated. The food was very good and he did everything possible to make sure our experience was great. Will definitely be going back again.
This place was an amazing find. A family member gave us a gift certificate to restaurant.com and we chose to go here. I wouldn’t have known about it. Excellent service, attentive waitresses and waiters, they’re all friendly and happy to serve. The owner remembers his patrons. Delicious food. All around an amazing experience. I highly recommend!
Everything was top notch, from the decor to the quality service to the delicious food.

hands down the best Mexican food we've every had. it was busy but waited only 3 mins. to get seated. the place was clean, nice atmosphere, very, very friendly staff and the food was fantastic. reasonably priced. went out of my way to tell the manager how wonderful it was
Very eager to please, fast service, reasonable pricing
Very eager to please, fast service, reasonable pricing
Waitstaff was amazing! Food just okay - the cheese in everything is flavorless and doesn’t melt well. Chips and salsa great!
Wait staff was very friendly and helpful, the food was very good and portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable.
very disappointed! menus were sticky/dirty, fajitas was just a pile of peppers & onions, barely any chicken or beef, but 2 skewers of shrimp stuck into half cooked onion... ordered guacamole, had too much lime juice... ~ there were 2 sizes & prices $6.50 or $7.99... when i asked the difference i was informed $6.50 was one avocado and $7.99 was with 2 (i ordered the 6.50 one).. chips were a bit stale. ready to pay bill and after i inserted my credit card, and was given a receipt, I realize i paid TOO much and was charge twice for the guacamole... $7.99 AND $6.99, but i realized the menu said the small portion would be $6.50!!! and i asked waiter to credit my credit card. He said he couldn't until the manager came it in an hour.... First i was overcharge from what the menu said the small guac would be, plus an additional order for $7.99, i only ordered the 6.50 but on my bill I was charged $6.99......... gesh, what a way to run a business.... print one thing on the menu and be charged more on your bill.... then the waiter said he would give me $10.00 back..... and i repeated that i wanted my credit card corrected in what the real bill should be.... then all of a sudden he fixed my bill, When earlier he said he couldnt' and manager would be the only one who could to it) after my bill was corrected to the right amount i told him how i was upset with how the did business. :HOW many other people are over charged with what the menu says and whats on their bill, and if i was a drink or 2 i wouldn't have noticed.. WOW!!!! what a way to make a living!
It’s very authentic when the server that makes the guacamole does not fully understand English and didn’t understand I wanted to break a larger bill to get him his tip.. haha. However he made excellent fresh guacamole and deserved that tip. Great service from my table’s waiter who helped me get it to him.
We didn't like that our server called us "Papa" and "Mama". Very disrespectful! We know we are old (in our 60s), and we also know that this server is not one of our family members!
It was tight fit in the booth (front to back) The salsa bar is great
The staff went out of their way to ensure we got what we wanted and gave us suggestions that were very helpful.
The food was delicious, service was great. Everything tasted fresh and had good flavor.
Very friendly and attentive staff. Excellent food!
I can’t say enough about this place. Loved it. The food and the service.
The welcome felt so warm. The order of shrimp and scallops was just right and delicious. The order of brochetta ... chicken and steak skewers with veggies ... was so huge and delicious. It also included rice, beans and guacamole salad. I took half of it home and made next night's dinner with it. Great experience.
We felt very rushed during our dining experience. We ordered fresh guacamole as appetizer, and within minutes our entree was served. The music was loud and fast. The Servers checked on us frequently, but it was like they were In a hurry to get us in and out. I hope this comment helps them allow future customers to relax and enjoy their good food.
The service is quick, the waiters are very polite, they frequently ask if everything is okay without being bothersome. Tbe portions are plentiful and very well nade.
Friendly people, fast service lovely atmosphere and great prices
Quick service, multiple servers helped us. We really enjoyed the experience.
Wait staff was very attentive and professional. Walter and Tony were EXCEPTIONAL and kind.
The food is always very good in the staff makes us feel at home.
Great food, large portions, friendly staff, good service. Would highly recommend!
Some of the best mexican food we have ever eaten. Service was outstanding.
Servers were very friendly and pleasant. Food was good. Food prep and serve was very fast.
The food has gone down hill since our last visit. Others in the area have way better food.
Fast and friendly service
Great Food and Great Service!
Margarita tasted like a sno cone. Entrees were generic at best.
We love Taco Mexicali. It is a great family restaurant and one we frequent offer. Good food at a great price.
Food is great, atmosphere is wonderful
The restaurant is beautifully decorated, food and service were excellent. Pricing is very resonable.
The decor was very Mexican. The service and food were excellent. If we lived here, we would definitely be back.
Service was super fast, and the food was great. HUGE portions!
Our waiter was extremely accomodating and pleasant. The food was also very good and reasonable
javier was a very friendly and helpful waiter. his suggestions were fantastic.we look foward to going back and hope we are lucky enough to get javier to serve usagain. really wonderful experience
Great Tacos! Tried my first Tilapi fish taco...really good. And they have ground beef tacos too. Eight varieties of taco filing. They also have vegetarian selections.
Always friendly staff.
The restaurant was very colorful and the staff was friendly. I was greeted at the door immediately and taken to my table where I was given chips and tasty salsa. The food was good. I am from California so I know good Mexican food and this place was good. The shrimp+chicken+beef burrito was flavorful though the beef was tough to eat .The shrimp and chicken were cooked well and were flavorful.I've tried a few other Mexican restaurants in the Williamsburg area and this one is the best thus far.
A friendly, warm atmosphere.
Wonderfully fresh California Fajitas! Quick, attentive service...our new favorite mexican food place! Great discovery!
long wait but food was good
Great variety - Great flavor and Great Clown for the kids on Friday night!
Nice quiet local spot convenient to 64 and 199. Sunday nite in early March so very quiet, which was perfect for our late Christmas family get-together. Frozen Margarita's were tasty, service was very good. Personable waiter and waitress served our small group. Food was out quick, and was quite good. Salsa bar adds some excitement. Wish they would tone the lights down- bright flourescent lights ruin the dining experience. Needs to be just bright enough to see who's sitting across from you. A good experience overall, exceeded our expectations.
My Husband, Son and I had a very nice dinner at Taco Mexicali. Their food is very good and the wait staff was very nice and made sure that we had every thing we needed at all times. We will definitely be going back.
Great food at reasonable prices!
liked the salsa bar
The best in Williamsburg, VA!!!
This is our favorite Mexican restaurant and one of our favorite restaurants overall. The food is great, service is good and prices are very reasonable.
Authentic Mexican. Great prices and the best happy hour.$2 beers, $2.50 margaritas from 4-9pm. Can't beat it!
Service was very good; food tasted great and quantity size was generous. The atmosphere was beneficial - very colorful and painted seating and music in the background added nicely to the experience
A very popular place, we arrived about 7:15 but we only had to wait about 10 mins for a seat. It was a Friday and the drinks special was $2.50 for a house margarita from 4 pm-9 pm. FANTASTIC! We were seated in a booth and almost immediately a waitress (not ours) dropped a hot basket of chips and a bowl of salsa. In a couple of minutes our waiter arrived and we told him we would have the special drinks, a side of cheese dip and we gave him our entree order. Drinks and dip arrived and while we waited for our entree, we enjoyed the singing of a guitar-playing minstrel, Tripitin, dressed as a clown for the children. He moved from booth to booth playing and singing in Spanish, very professionally. We were talking to the waiter and told him we loved the music and he took our request for him to play some 50's music with cars in it. He came right over and play three songs from Elvis, etc! Then my husband wanted the minstrel's favorite song and I said romantic, so he played and sang his favorite romantic song! (Only One was the song I think) It was so sweet and heartfelt (even though I didn't understand a word!) that I cried! We took his picture with my husband and gave him a token of our appreciation and he couldn't have been nicer! The restaurant is owned and run by a lovely local family who treat each customer with loving care. I had the carnas adobada which was hot and fantastic and mildly spiced and my husband had Chori Pollo which has chorizo that the owners make themselves. It was deliciously fresh and quantities were more than enough. Altogether we had 5 margaritas, two entrees, the cheese dip, (also, there is a salsa bar for your chips for free) and our bill minus the $10 restaurant.com gift cert. was $30. I will definitely be back way more often with or without the discount. Gracias, Taco Mexicali, for turning a cold Friday night into a magical date night!!!
Always friendly staff and good food,
not fancy but very helpful
