great bartenders and hostesses. Only down side is the wait for a table, but it is worth it
The potato pancakes were not hot, otherwise, the food was very good and service was fine!

Charming restaurant that has the feel of an old-fashioned supper club, with a relish tray and basket of crackers. The owner/chef and our waitress were very friendly and attentive. Loved the German food which was well prepared, and made with love by the cook. This was a great small-town find. We felt very welcome here, and will return.

Best fish fry I have ever had. They do a great job. Expect to wait up to 1 hr on a Friday night as they do not take reservations and this is a popular fish fry but worth the wait.

Food was good quality, Surprised that they did not have a full menu on Wed night, Make sure you read the headings. We all had something different, 1 Shrimp, 1 Wall eye, 1 Fish (Cod), 1 Chicken. All meals were ok, none were bad, Drinks average price. Good Value for the price and quality

We loved our first experience here, loved that they took our fish fry order as we walked in the door and we sat at the bar while we waited for our food that was at our table when we were sat. Nice touch. Great food, love family style. Can't wait to try the more elegant Saturday nite experience.

They serve German food 2 or 3 times per week and that is what we went for. My meal was excellent and my wives was good.

Always have to wait to sit down even when there are empty tables.
We went there for the German food (Thursday or Saturday), and it was excellent. They weren't very busy due to rainy weather, and the cook came out to see how we liked the food. Meals included a relish tray, whipped cheese and bread, a voice of salad, and entree.
Fish and pancakes are excellent. Drinks are Chicago prices and fries are wimpy. Server was friendly.

The wait is long, but the food was great and it is waiting for you when you get to your table, so that is a plus. You don't have to wait longer for the food to order it once you sit down!!

The Food was great - I had ordered a steak shrimp combo - steak came med rare just like I requested. Husband and a German dish - he really enjoyed it. The service was great - and very prompt. The time of each course was just right. Would go back again! The con was the table next to was extremely loud but that wasn't the Nite Caps fault.

Wednesday Fish Fry is a specialty. Potato pancakes are excellent. I found the fish to be of average quality. Atmosphere is uninspired but quiet. Service is excellent as is their schaum torte!

My favorite fish fry experience in the area mainly due to their outstanding potato pancakes. Arrive before 5:00 p.m. on Friday or be prepared for a wait. The fish fry is also served on Wednesday.
